FRENCH CITYSCAPE: Kaffe Fassett
A Limited Edition of 25 Stitched Canvases
French Cityscape by Kaffe Fassett
There are only a handful of textile artists alive today who are recognized around the world and Kaffe Fassett is one of them. Originally known for his knitting it is his needlework that now attracts greater attention. People are becoming aware of a remarkable collection of hangings which Kaffe has produced in recent years as commissions for private collectors. On these larger canvases Kaffe is able to explore more ambitious subjects and without the limitations imposed by designing for kits he is able to give full rein to his unique sense of colour. To the field of needlework no one has had a greater impact for over a century since William Morris was working with Henry Dearle, Philip Webb and Edward Burne-Jones. This year we decided to produce one of Kaffe's larger designs as a limited edition of stitched tapestries for those who have always admired Kaffe's needlework but do not wish to stitch it. It is the first of its kind. Kaffe's paintings regularly sell for anywhere between £3,000 and £10,000 and this limited editions will, at last, give a similar artistic recognition to his needlework. The stitched tapestries come boxed. We can arrange for your tapestry to be framed or backed and prepared ready for hanging from a pole. For details please contact either our UK or US office:
